Food Trends: Old Greens Are New Again

According to a food trend report for 2017, kale, the much-loved green for healthy eaters, is now taking a backseat to other greens. So we’ve decided to take a look at how we can incorporate some of the other leafy varieties into our snack time!

Rich in iron, spinach is an excellent source of vitamins A, C, and K, as well as folic acid, the latter making it an ideal vegetable option for pregnant women. It may not give you Popeye-levels of an immediate strength boost, but vitamin K promotes good bone health and spinach is rich in iron, which helps red blood cells do their job of transporting oxygen through our bodies.

Plus, spinach is available year-round and easy to incorporate into many meals and snacks. Below we share a few of our favorite spinach-based snacks.
