Welcome Back, Fall!

Back to school, pumpkin spice, Halloween, football season, and sweater weather – those are just a few things that come to mind when we think about the fall season. If you’re having a little trouble getting in the autumn mood, we’ve come up with three suggestions to help you ease the season transition.

  1. Candle Swap

Between Halloween treats and Thanksgiving feasts, you may first associate fall with delicious food. The fall season is also filled with some of the most comforting scents. Swap out your candles or air fresheners with some of the following scents to fill your home with autumn:

  • Cinnamon
  • Apple
  • Maple
  • Pumpkin
  • Spices like clove or nutmeg
  • Vanilla
  • Pine or other woodsy scents

  1. Bring the Outdoors Indoors

Bringing nature indoors for DIY décor projects is an easy way to welcome back fall. Framed pressed leaves, pine comb centerpieces, and wreaths can spread the warm colors of fall through your home.

Really express your creative side by painting gourd-shaped wooden pieces (found in most craft stores) in shades of red, green, yellow, orange, and brown, and use them as bookends, centerpieces, or mantle decorations.

  1. A Steaming Mug & Apple Jam Bites

If you love hot beverages, fall is an embarrassment of riches: cocoa, teas, or spiced ciders are all more than capable of heating up a cozy fall evening. They all go perfectly with these Apple Jam Bites. With tart apples, sweet jam, and sharp blue cheese, these snacks are delicious blend of flavors, much like the season itself. Get the recipe here.
