Summer Celebration Tips

The weekends are about to be filled with summer celebrations for national holidays or just because the weather is nice. Whether your gathering is large or small, indoors or outdoors, following these tips will ensure your summer weekend celebrations are safe ones.

On the Road
If your summer vacation or get together involves a long road trip or short drive to the nearest park or beach, you’ll want to be careful on the road. Try to beat any holiday/weekend traffic by leaving early and plan an alternate route as a backup. Make sure all drivers are well rested before hitting the road. Remember that not everyone makes the wisest choices when getting behind the wheel; stay alert.

Under the Sun
For any outdoor activities, have plenty of water on hand. Don’t forget your sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and insect repellent. You want your summer celebrations to be remembered for better things than sunburn and bug bites. Your furry friends need care, too, so ensure that your feline or canine companions stay cool and hydrated.

By the Water
Designate an adult swimmer or two to keep an eye on any water activities whether it’s at the beach or in a backyard pool. Provide water toys to keep the little ones entertained.

At the Grill
There’s always a lot going on during a summer get together – especially if it’s a holiday weekend — that’s why it’s more important than ever to practice grill safety. Never leave a lit grill unattended and place it away from areas where children might be at play.
